MediSync operates a network of 14 outpatient clinics. Their challenge wasn’t clinical. It was operational. Patients were slipping through the cracks of a paper-based scheduling system.
Accessibility-first design
We recruited test participants aged 55–72 for every major usability round. Their feedback shaped the navigation depth (never more than two taps to any core action), the font size defaults (18px body), and the color choices (WCAG AAA for all text).
EHR integration without the pain
Connecting to legacy EHR systems is notoriously painful. We built an HL7 FHIR adapter that normalizes data from MediSync’s on-premise system into a clean API, so the app never has to know about the underlying system’s quirks.
Notification strategy
Not all reminders are equal. Our notification engine sends appointment reminders 48 hours and 2 hours out, but adapts timing based on each patient’s response history. Patients who consistently read messages at 7am get reminded at 7am. The result: 92% notification open rate, far above the 20% healthcare industry average.
